This blog is dedicated to the study of the life and reign of Emperor Nicholas II (1868-1918).
My blog currently features more than 500 full-length articles and news stories sourced mainly from Russian sources, including previously unknown archival sources. It is further complemented with photographs and videos.
It is my personal belief that Russia’s last Emperor and Tsar has been unfairly treated by historians, many of whom prefer to hold on to the popular negative assessment of Nicholas II, which was originated during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and allowed to germinate during the Soviet years to the present day.
